WEDNESDAY'S QUICK THOUGHT - BOLD TRUTHS

Good morning friends, and welcome again to this week’s text only Quick Thoughts.

My thoughts this week are of the blessed assurance we have in certain truths which many label as 'Bold' today. I thank God for not leaving us with only questions; that He in His grace gives us rock solid answers in His word that we may boldly stand. There is enough about this life for which we cannot be certain. Child of God, let us turn to the firm foundation of the scriptures and see what bedrock has been laid for our faith!

Last segment was drawn from Romans 8 and Paul's declaration that nothing could separate us from Christ. Bold yes, trustworthy, Yes! Let us look further at brother Paul's expression of faith.

2Timothy 1:12 "...But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me."

In 2Corinthians 11 Paul said to the church he had betrothed them to one husband, that being Christ. Paul was one of the most active evangelists/missionaries we have record of. Paul had this great confidence. Not only do I know that nothing will ever separate me from Christ, but I have this assurance that for every who will ever be pointed Christward that come to trust Him to the salvation of their soul; they will be kept by Him! What a glorious thought! Child of God, we too need to be convinced of this as brother Paul said he was. We may witness in boldness knowing that ALL who come to trust Christ are safe in Him!

Christian, you should be noticing a pattern by now. In any case where we may boldly stand it is based not on confidence in any men, not even those pious examples we have in Paul and pastors/teachers who led us in the way of salvation. No, in each instance the basis is a supreme confidence in Christ Jesus. He alone is sufficient. Friends let me say the only reason I am convinced of these things as is Paul stems from the same source as did he. I know whom I have believed. He knows me. Chid of God take courage. Our Lord is able to keep all who have been given to Him!
